Spring is here at last. While many of us are ready to jump into spring activities, tons of us are still walking around with junk and funk from a lingering cold.  Try these no-nonsense solutions.  They are affordable, have no side-effects and easy to do.

1. Apple Cider Zinger:  Place a tsp of grated ginger, 1 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar, a squeeze of lemon and a tsp of raw organic honey in a cup.  Dilute with warm water.  Drink or gargle. The combination is anti-viral, anti-microbial and will restore good gut bacteria and provide symptom relief.

2. Ah-mazing Eucalyptus Oil:  Think of this is Vapo-Rub gone healthy.  This essential oil made from the leaves of the eucalyptus plant is antifungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and decongestant in nature. An easy use is to add several drops to a warm, damp washcloth and bring this into the shower with you. The heat and moisture will release the oil into the shower.  Alternatively, place several drops in a bowl of hot water, drape a towel over your head and inhale the steam for 5-10 minutes.

3. Eat Your Vitamin C:  While many people reach for Vitamin C supplements these are often not from whole foods and are not as effective as the real deal. One of the reasons we get sick isn’t more germs, it’s less activity, less being outdoors and more “comfort foods”.  Grab a bowl of immunity by eating  foods like peppers, kiwi, citrus fruit, broccoli and Brussels sprouts.  Another easy boost is to infuse your water with lemons, limes, and fresh herbs like basil and mint.
